During the first night, keep your tattoo covered with adhesive film. When moisture accumulates beneath the film, remove it and wash the tattoo with natural soap or lukewarm water. Then, reapply a new adhesive film. Always make sure to wash your hands before cleaning and bandaging. In the morning, rinse your tattoo immediately. Showers are acceptable, but avoid immersing your tattoo in water for prolonged periods, as excessive moisture exposure can be harmful.
From this point on, you can discontinue using the adhesive film and allow your tattoo to be uncovered. Apply cream whenever the tattoo becomes too dry; a cream with panthenol is recommended. The cream should be from a new container and applied only after washing your hands. Avoid using an excessive amount of cream; if the tattoo appears too wet, remove the excess. It’s normal to apply it 2 to 3 times a day.
Ensure that your tattoo only comes into contact with clean, lightweight clothing, avoiding any heavy or abrasive fabric. When your tattoo starts peeling, refrain from scratching or interfering, and allow the flakes to come off naturally.
Your tattoo may take between 4 and 15 days to heal completely.
Until this point, keep it away from direct sunlight and avoid swimming and gym activity. Also, avoid any contact with pets or surfaces that may harbor bacteria that could cause infections.
Many people heal better with adhesive dressings like Dermalize, but these are only effective from the second day. When moisture accumulates, remove the dressing and reapply it. Cream is not necessary for this procedure, but if you experience irritation from the adhesive, return to the original healing method. Avoid removing the dressing during days 3-5, as this may remove layers of skin that are not ready to come off.
